Art Science Cloud Curricula Workshops


Associate Professor Paul Thomas has organised an international experimental arts intensive.

The Leonardo Education and Arts Forum (a working group of Leonardo ® /ISAST),  Art Science Cloud Curricula workshop will generate and build an internationally recognised and Leonardo endorsed art and science cloud curriculum course outline. The workshop outcome would be a curriculum that could become a benchmark of what we see as quintessentially important to engage in the world of research at the core of Art/Science.

Beyond the Last Sky: Contemporary Palestinian Photography and Video curated by NIEA PhD student Chrisoula Lionis opened on Friday 31 August  2012 and has received wide media coverage on TV, online (SBS, ABC, Al Jazeera) and in print (SMH). It was featured on SBS.

 

New Book "Mainframe Experimentalism" by Professor Douglas Kahn

Mainframe Experimentalism: Early Computing and the Foundations of the Digital Arts (UC Press 2012) is a new book by NIEA Professor of Media and Innovation Douglas Kah co-edited with Hannah B Higgins from the University of Illionis, Chicago, Department of Art History.

NIEA Director Professor Jill Bennett's book Practical Aesthetics: Events, Affects and Art After 9//11 (I.B. Tauris, 2012) was launched by Professor Terry Smith, Distinguished Professor (NIEA) and Andrew W. Mellon Professor of Contemporary art History and Theory in the Department of the History of Art and Architecture (University of Pittsburgh) at Artspace on 17th August 2012 following the symposium Another World.

CAST Workshop - Intensive Design Studio 9-13 July 2012

CAST WORKSHOP

CAST is an intensive five-day workshop directed by the Experimental Design Lab and hosted by the School of Design Studies and the National Institute for Experimental Arts (NIEA), at the College of Fine Arts (COFA), University of New South Wales, Sydney. CAST is the second in a series of workshops investigating how traditional processes of making can be enhanced by computational design tools and digital fabrication techniques.
 

 

The Second International Conference on Transdisciplinary Imaging at the Intersections between Art, Science and Culture
